A support group for people recovering from Strokes

cherry@strokeaid.org.za

Stroke Aid was founded in 1986 and is a multi-racial self-help organisation specialising in the rehabilitation of stroke patients. Support groups meet regularly in Norwood, South Rand & Soweto. For more information contact cherry@strokeaid.org.za

 Stroke Aid’s aims are:

    • through support groups to encourage social interaction, promote independence and self confidence in stroke patients and their families
    • to provide an information service
    • to increase public awareness
    • to network with other similar organisations

This web site is designed to improve our networking and ensure information relevant to rehabilitation in South Africa is as easily accessible as possible. We do not intend to re-invent the wheel and have therefore where possible provided links to other sites with information on stroke, books etc.

We intend to build this site up gradually and would welcome any feedback and suggestions about content. Contact cherry@strokeaid.org.za

Useful Information is available in the form of brochures, newsletters and an exercise video designed especially for individuals and groups that do not have access to a physiotherapist.
